<br />WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos, Texas, has enga~ed ~n
<br />-- the process of L~proving the City's plan for the phys~cal
<br />development of said City; and,
<br />
<br />- --- WHEREAS, as a part of that process,. the City of San !.1a:::cos
<br />has engaged the services of Freese and N~chols, 'rnc. ~ to. to~a:.lly
<br />revise and ua¿ate the 1970 Com~ehensive Plan for sa~~ C~~y and
<br />to prepare a-Master Plan ~or the future development Ot sa~d
<br />City; and,
<br />
<br />WHER.::..'\.S, citizen participation in the process was sec~~ed
<br />through the c:::eation of sL~ community sectors in San !1arcos; and,
<br />
<br />cWHEREAS, meetings were held in those sectors th:::oughout the
<br />process to receive information and comment from citizens about
<br />issues of concern; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Master Plan Executive Committee and the Master
<br />Plan Committe~ provided guidance throughout the process; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, guided by such community effort as well as its
<br />technical expe:::tise~. Freese and Nichols, Inc. has prepared a -
<br />~2ster Plan for said City; and,
<br />.

<br />WHEREAS, public hearings to cons ide::: approval of the Master
<br />Plan prepared by Freese and Nichols, Inc., were held at San
<br />Marcos City Hall on August 2, 1982, and January 24, 1983, at
<br />which tL~e all interested persons were allowed to saeak on said
<br />matter; now, therefore, -
<br />
<br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COu~CIL OF THE CITY OF SA..'
<br />MARCOS, TEx.:l.S:
<br />
<br />SECTION 1. That the Master Plan for San ¡.¡arcos, Texas,
<br />prepared for said City by Freese and Nichols, Inc. Consulting
<br />Engineers and Planners, of Austin, Texas, and bearincr the date
<br />October 1981, a copy of which shall be kept on file In the office
<br />of the City Secretary for said City, is hereby aooroYed for use
<br />as a plan for the phýsical develo~;ent of said city.

<br />'SECTION 2. That the 1970 Co1:l;;:>renen.si-,re Plan for the City
<br />of San ~Iarcos, Texas, approved by :¡esol~tion adopted on ¡'¡a:::ch-
<br />9, 1970, and ~~end1:lents thereof, is hereby repealed.
<br />
<br />SEC-:'IO~I 3. That said :1aster Plan shall not be a.-::ended
<br />prior to at least one public hearing on the proposed action.
<br />
<br />SECTION 4. That this Ordinance shall be in. effect ten
<br />days from and after its passage and Dublication in a ne~sDaaer
<br />of general circulation in the area. - , .
