';e¡, ~i;i, ORDINANCE 1996 - 45 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS CHANGING THE NAME OF GILLETT STREET TO BURLESON STREET BETWEEN BURLESON STREET AND PROSPECT STREET; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE, RECITALS: 1. On March 26, 1996 the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of San Marcos held a public meeting regarding a request to change the name of Gillett Street to Burleson Street from its intersection with Burleson Street to to its intersection with Prospect Street. 2. Subsequent to the public hearing on that date, the Planning and Zoning Commission did, on March 26, 1996, approve the request and has. recommend that the request be approved by the City Council of the City. 3. The City Council held a hearing on .1l- day of May , 1966 regarding the request. 4. All requirements of Chapter 74 of the San Marcos Code pertaining to street name changes have been meet. I BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION 1: That the street name for Gillett Street from its intersection with Burleson Street to its intersection with Prospect Street is changed to Burleson Street. SECTION 2: That this Ordinance shall be in effect ten (10) days from and after its passage, and it shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation in ,the area as required by the Charter of the City of San Marcos, Texas, PASSED AND APPROVED on first reading May 13, 1996.
