<br />123 <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 1996- 114 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING A TOILET REBATE PROGRAM; <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />, 1. The City wishes to encourage water conservation by having residential <br />I customers of the City water system replace existing toilet fixtures with low-flow toilet <br />fixtures. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. That a program of rebates for the replacement of existing standard toilet <br />fixtures with low-flow toilet fixtures is approved. <br /> <br />PART 2, That the following policies will govern this rebate program: <br /> <br />- Program will be managed and operated by Public Works Department. <br />- Only residential customers of the City's water utility are eligible to <br />apply for the rebate. < <br />- Only one (1) rebate per residence. <br />- First 50 residents on a first-come, first-served basis. <br />- Existing toilets using 3.5 gallons per flush or greater must be replaced <br />by a ULF model using 1.6 gpf or less. <br />- Program will run through September 30, 1996. <br />- Public Works personnel will inspect new installations and pick up the <br />old toilets. <br />I <br />~ - Residents must provide the original receipt for purchase of the toilet <br />l to Public Works to receive the rebate. <br />- Rebate amount can include cost of parts and labor, up to a maximum <br />of $100.00. <br />- Rebates will be issued by Finance Department. <br /> <br /> <br />PART 3, That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its <br />passage. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this 8th day of July, 1996. <br /> <br />~ Y ~ ! . 2'\1\."'~".L- <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />Attest: <br />, 1){1 /}" ~ 1'ß'I'I'.Þd" / <br />r Janis K.
