<br /> 69 <br /> RESOLUTION 1996 -= 133 R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION <br /> TO THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE THROUGH THE INNOVATIVE <br /> COMMUNITY POLICING (ICOP) GRANT PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING THE <br /> CITY MANAGER TO ACT ON THE CITY'S BEHALF WITH REGARD TO <br /> THE SUBMISSION OF THIS APPLICATION AND DECLARING AN <br /> EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> RECITALS: <br /> 1. The City of San Marcos wishes to submit an application to the U.S. <br /> Department of Justice for an Innovative Community Policing (ICOP) grant in order to <br /> provide additional police officers in downtown San Marcos. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. The submission of the attached application for an 'COP grant to the <br /> U.S. Department of Justice is approved. <br /> . <br /> PART 2. The City Manager, Larry D. Gilley, is authorized to execute and submit <br /> this grant application and related documents on the City's behalf. <br /> PART 3.
