<br /> 125 <br /> ECONOMIC DEVELOPMeNT AGREEMENT <br /> STATE OF TEXAS <br /> COUNTY OF HAYS <br /> RECITALS: <br /> .--- 1. The City of San Marcos desires to enter into a direct contract with the San Marcos <br /> Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for fiscal year 1996-97 in order to promote orderly and <br /> responsible economic development for the San Marcos geographic area. <br /> This agr~ement is made by and between the City of San Marcos, Texas ("City"), and <br /> the San Marcos Hispanic Chamber of Commerce ("Chamber"). ' <br /> 1. OBLIGATIONS OF THE CHAMBER <br /> A. The Chamber will conduct and administer an economic development program <br /> . <br /> which has as its mission serving as a connection to local, national and international <br /> Hispanic markets to stimulate economic development in the City of San Marcos. The <br /> Chamber shall accomplish this mission through the following activities: <br /> 1. Coordinate support services for established businesses, such as <br /> counseling, seminars and assistance. <br /> 2. Assist in marketing the City of San Marcos in local, national and <br /> international Hispanic markets. <br /> 3. Maintain a full-time staff to assist in the coordination of economic <br /> development activities of the San Marcos Area Chamber of <br /> Commerce and the Greater San Marcos Economic D~velopment <br /> Council and to assist in working prospects. <br /> 4. Utilize the Texas Business Center and the Internet to provide lead <br /> opportunities on employment and contracting. <br /> B. The Chamber shall provide necessary skilled and knowledgeable personnel, <br />
