As I told you in our telephone conversation, we would be pleased to defend Carolyn <br /> Liner in this matter on the City's behalf. <br /> We offer a special public sector rate to our municipal clients. My special hourly rate is <br /> $185.00. Our associates are billed in a range from $100.00 to $170.00 per hour, <br /> depending upon their level of experience. Our legal assistant is billed at $75.00 per hour. <br /> At the outset, I plan to assign Amanda Garza, an Associate Attorney, to assist me on the <br /> - case. Her present billing rate if $100.00 per hour. <br /> I <br /> , From time to time, we may call upon Sheila Gladstone or Steven Mierl in our Austin <br /> , office for "local" assistance. Sheila is a partner in the firm's Labor and Employment Law <br /> Section, and her public sector rate is $175.00. Steve is an Associate in our Section, and <br /> his current rate is $100.00 per hour. In January, Amanda's and Steve's hourly rates will <br /> increase to $120.00. I have included their biographical sketches along with mine. We bill <br /> separately for e."{penses such as travel, photocopy, telephone and telecopy. <br /> Our conflict check reveals that there are no conflicts with our representing ~he City in <br /> this matter. <br /> It is our understanding and agreement that should the City accept our proposal, we will <br /> provide an initial report summarizing the nature and status of the suit, and a <br /> recommendation on strategies for defending the City. We agree to hold an initial <br /> meeting/phone conference between our firm and the key City representatives.
