Ms. Springer has been ce~i:fied as a <br /> specialist in labor and employment law by the Texas board of Legal Specialization. <br /> She is engaged exclusively in the practice of management labor and employment law <br /> and represents employers in both the public and private sectors. She defends matters <br /> ~--' involving claims of employment discrimination and wrongful discharge. She also <br /> advises employers about various matters arising under the Fair Labor Standards Act. <br /> She represents employers in matters related to union organizing campaigns, <br /> negotiations of collective bargaining agreements and administration of collective <br /> bargaining agreements, as well as advising on preventing employee relations <br /> problems. c' . <br /> Bettye Springer is a 1978 graduate of DePaul College of Law and has her masters <br /> degree in Public Administration from the University of Kansas. She has been <br /> admitted to practice law in both Texas and Illinois. Ms. Springer is a former <br /> personnel director and has been active for several years in the National Public <br /> Employer Labor Relations Association, the Texas Municipal Personnel Association <br /> and the Fort Worth Human Resource Association. <br /> Bettye Springer has published numerous articles on. employment-related topics <br /> including "Avoiding the Nightmare," published in The Risk & Benefits Journal in <br /> September 1992, "Sexual Harassment: Practical Guidelines for Preventing Sexual <br /> Harassment in Your Company", "Investigating Sexual Harassment Claims" and "Nine <br /> Years Later: An Unwelcome Return to the Fair Labor Standards Act" for the Texas <br /> - . Municipal League's Town and City Magazine. She also serves on the Advisory Board <br /> for ICMA's Newsletter the "HR Report". She has taught at Texas Christian <br /> University, instructing in various labor relations courses, and has served as a <br /> Commissioner on the City of Fort Worth's Civil Service Commission.
