276. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2003- 125 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING AN AIRPORT PROJECT PARTICIPATION <br />AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITYAND THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF <br />TRANSPORTATION ("TXDOT") FOR GRANT FUNDING FOR RUNWAY <br />IMPROVEMENTS TO THE SAN MARCOS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT; <br />AUTHORIZING TXDOT TO ACT AS THE CITY'S AGENT IN <br />IMPLEMENTING THE AIRPORT IMPROVEMENTS SPECIFIED UNDER <br />THE GRANT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE <br />AGREEMENT AND RELATED DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY; <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br /> 1. On February 11, 2002 the City approved a request for funding from TxDOT <br />for grant funding for repairs and improvements to Runway 12-30 and adjoining taxiways <br />at the San Marcos Municipal Airport (the "Project"). <br /> <br />Project. <br /> <br />The City received notification that TxDOT has approved grant funding for the <br /> <br /> 3. On September 23, 2002 the City approved an Airport Project Participation <br />Agreement (TxDOT Contract No. 2XXAVO89) with TxDOT for grant funding for <br />design/engineering services for repairs and improvements to Runway 12-30 and adjoining <br />taxiways. <br /> <br /> 4. The City wishes to enter into an Airport Project Participation Agreement <br />(TxDOT Contract No. 3XXAV082)with TxDOT for grant funding for the construction <br />services for the repair and improvements to Runway 12-30 and adjoining taxiways. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br /> PART 1. The attached Airport Participation Agreement (TxDOT Contract No. <br />3XXAV082) and related documents between the City of San Marcos and the Texas <br />Department of Transportation for grant funding for the Project are approved. <br /> <br /> PART 2. <br />Project. <br /> <br />TxDOT is authorized to act as the City's agent in implementing the <br /> <br /> PART 3. The City Manager, Dan O'Leary, is authorized to execute the grant <br />agreement and related documents on behalf of the City. <br /> <br /> PART 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately from and <br />after its passage. <br /> <br /> <br />
