<br /> 181 <br /> RESOLUTION 1995- 27 R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, RESCINDING THE CITY COUNCIL'S <br /> REJECTION OF BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF A UTILITY <br /> VEHICLE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT AND ENGINEERING <br /> DEPARTMENT SUBMITTED IN RESPONSE TO IFB 95-019; <br /> RESCINDING THE APPROVAL OF CITY COUNCIL FOR THE <br /> PURCHASE OF THE UTILITY VEHICLE THROUGH THE STATE <br /> GENERAL SERVICES COMMISSION; APPROVING THE PURCHASE <br /> OF A UTILITY VEHICLE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT AND <br /> ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT FROM MCMORRIS FORD, INC.; <br /> AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING MANAGER TO EXECUTE <br /> CONTRACT DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY AND <br /> DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> RECITALS: <br /> 1. At the January 23, 1995 City Council meeting, <br /> the City C~uncil of the City of San Marcos rejected bids for <br /> the purchase of a utility vehicle submitted in response to <br /> IFB 95-019 because it was determined that the purchase could <br /> be made at a lower cost through the General Services <br /> Commission from Knapp Chevrolet, Inc. and GMAC. <br /> 2. Subsequently, the purchase of a Series 665C <br /> Chevrolet Tahoe from Knapp Chevrolet, Inc. and GMAC was <br /> approved. . <br /> 3. Since the approval of the purchase of the <br /> vehicle through the General Services Commission, the <br /> manufacturer has cut off all orders for the Chevrolet Tahoe. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. That approval of the purchase of a Series <br /> 665C Chevrolet Tahoe utility vehicle from Knapp Chevrolet, <br /> Inc. and GMAC located in Houston, ,Texas, through the General <br /> Services Commission for $20,314,80 for the Environment and <br /> Engineering Department is rescinded. <br /> PART 2. That the the City Council's rejection of <br /> bids received for the purchase of a Series 665C utility <br /> vehicle received in response to IFB-95-019 is rescinded. <br /> PART 3. That the purchase of a Series 665C' Ford <br /> Bronco utility vehicle from McMorris Ford, Inc. located in <br /> Austin, Texas for $20,675.00 for the Environment and <br /> Engineering Department is approved. <br /> PART 4. That the Purchasing Manager, Cheryl <br /> pantermuehl is authorized to execute contract documents on <br /> behalf of the City. <br /> PART 5.
