/q.r
an extensive review was done in each room with more
deterioration in the veranda area.
Based on the location of the veranda and the
deterioration in the immediate vicinity it was clear the
origin of the fire was in this area. Personnel did remove
walls and ceiling in the origin area. Secondary involvement
included the attic area of the structure.
,
I observed a gas meter disconnect. It appeared that the
valve was operating correctly.
Inspection of the hot water heater in the hallway
showed no indication of involvement with this fire.
Inspection of the heater in the bathroom showed no
signs of involvement with the fire.
While inspecting the remainder of the hallway, I
noticed the breaker panel for electrical service adjacent
the bathroom. It appeared that a no breakers were activated.
Electrical service had been disconnected prior to the fire.
Each room was inspected visually starting from th'e
north side (side one) of the building. Room #1 had extensive
heat marks almost to the baseboard area. This build-up was
due to heavy smoke and heat. All the windows in this area
were broken or boarded at one time during the fire. There
was no sign of fire origin in this area.
Room #2 also had sustained similar heat marks in the
wall face, however, this was superficial. Most damage to
this room originated at ceiling level. No sign of origin in
this room.
Room #3 appeared to have a 1 X 1 penetration at floor
level at the hallway entrance. This may have been done prior
to the fire or by fire personnel. As of this report this
information is unknown. The room appeared to sustain light
damage from some heat and smoke.
Room #4 included the bath area and closet space. The
damage appeared consistent with the rest of the bui.1-ding in
heat/smoke damage. There appeared to be no origin sight in
this room.
Room #5 attached to the bath by means of a doorway. &11
windows and entry ways appeared to be open. There was a
heavy collection of discarded materials in this room.
Information indicated this was consistent for this room
prior to fire involvement.
Room #6 appeared to have severe damage to the floor and
roof area. Most of this area was demolished to the point of
