ORDINANCE 1995- 27 <br />~ ~a. <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING ARTICLE IX OF CHAPTER 5, <br />BUILDING CONSTRUCTION AND RELATED ACTIVITIES, OF THE <br />SAN MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES TO PROVIDE FOR CITY <br />REGULATION OF ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS TO APPLY TO <br />ALL WORK TO BE CONNECTED TO THE CITY'S ELECTRIC <br />SYSTEM; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND <br />PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That Section 5-131 of Article IX, Electrical Code, of Chapter 5, Building <br />Construction and Related Activities, of the San Marcos Code of Ordinances is amended <br />by adding a subsection (c) to read as follows: <br /> <br />(c) All provisions of this article shall apply throughout the city limits, and to all <br />electrical work, regardless of location, which is or will be connected to the city <br />electric system. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. That if any word, phrase, clause, sentence, or paragraph of this <br />ordinance is held to be unconstitutional or invalid by a court of comp~tent jurisdiction, the <br />remaining provisions of this ordinance shall remain in effect as if the unconstitutional or <br />invalid portion had not been adopted. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. That all ordinances and resolutions or parts of ordinances or <br />resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. <br /> <br />SECTION 4. That any person violating any provision of this ordinance shall be <br />deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be subject to the penalty <br />provided in Section 1-5 of the San Marcos Code, of Ordinances. <br /> <br />SECTION 5.
