It is easily identified by the castle-like structure of Old Main which was the first building constructed when the <br /> University, then a college, began operation in 1903. It became a University on May 15, 1969, and now has an enrollment of <br /> more than 21,000 students trom Texas, 48 other states and 60 foreign countries.
