<br /> JLff <br /> Electrical Board <br /> Purpose <br /> <br /> To ensure and promote the health, safety and welfare to citizens concerning procurement and <br /> proficiency of minimum standards of electrical contracting in the City of San Marcos. <br /> lVlembership <br /> <br /> The Electrical Board consists of six members, five of which are appointed by the City Council. <br /> One member will be a representative of the electric utility department. Three members must <br /> be master electricians currently licensed through testing in the City. One member may be <br /> either an electrician or a resident of San Marcos, and one member is appointed by the Building <br /> Official from the Building Official's staff. <br /> Typical Duties <br /> <br /> - Authorize issuances of electrical licenses <br /> - Have the authorization to hear appeals, suspend licenses, issue variances and enforce <br /> violations. <br /> - Recommend amendments to this code to City Council. . <br /> Staff Support <br /> <br /> Chief Building Official <br /> Time Commitment <br /> The Board holds one meeting each month and serves a term of two years. <br /> Authority: Code of Ordinances, Chapter 5, Division 2 <br /> 6/6/95 sunelec <br /> 2.11 <br />
