<br /> ILf~ <br /> Ethics Review Commission <br /> Purpose <br /> <br /> To oversee the application of the City of San Marcos Code of Ethics concerning conflicts of <br /> interest, ethical conduct and financial disclosure of City officials and employees. <br /> Membership <br /> <br /> The Commission consists of seven members who reside in the City. <br /> Typical Duties <br /> <br /> 8 Conduct hearings into allegations of violations of the City's Code of Ethics <br /> 8 Render advisory opinions on potential conflicts of interest or violation of the City's <br /> Code of Ethics at the request of those covered by the Code of Ethics. <br /> 8 Recommend prosecution or other action for violation of ethics code to appropriate <br /> authorities. ~ <br /> 8 Review and monitor financial reports required by the Texas Election Code with respect <br /> to city sponsored elections. <br /> Staff Support <br /> <br /> City Attorney <br /> Time Commitment <br /> The Ethics Review Commission must meet at least once a year to review the Code of Ethics <br /> and make recommendations to the City Council.
