Present <br />Mayor Daniel Guerrero <br />Council: <br />Shane Scott <br />Jude Prather <br />John Thomaides <br />Kim Porterfield <br />Ryan Thomason <br />Wayne Becak <br />City Staff: <br />Jim Nuse, City Manager <br />Collette Jamison, Assistant City Manager <br />Michael Cosentino, City Attorney <br />Jamie Lee Pettijohn, City Clerk <br />Stephanie Reyes, Assistant to the City Manager <br />2. Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present <br />With a quorum present, a special meeting of the San Marcos City Council was called to order by <br />Mayor Daniel Guerrero at 5:40 p.m. on Monday, November 19, 2012 in the Council Chambers <br />of the City of San Marcos City Hall, 630 East Hopkins, San Marcos, Texas 78666. <br />3. Consider approval of Ordinance 2012 -53, on emergency, canvassing returns and <br />declaring results of the election held on November 6, 2012 for the purpose of electing a <br />Mayor, City Council Members for City Council Places 5 and 6, and presenting three <br />non - binding propositions regarding the acquisition of 70 acres of land in the Cape's <br />Camp area to the voters; and declaring an emergency. <br />MOTION: Upon a motion made by Council Member Scott, and a Second by Council Member <br />Prather, the City Council voted seven (7) for and none (0) opposed, to approve Ordinance 2012- <br />53, on emergency, as previously captioned. The motion carried. <br />4. Issue Certificate of Election to elected Mayor, City Council Member, Place 5, and City <br />Council Member Place 6; and administer Oath of Office. <br />
