20. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2003- :t28 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS APPROVING AN EMERGENCY CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT <br />WITH THE GERLOFF COMPANY, INC. FOR THE AIRPORT WINDSTORM <br />EMERGENCY REPAIR PROJECT; RATIFYING THE CITY MANAGER'S <br />EXECUTION OF CONTRACT DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY; <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br /> 1. On June 2, 2003, the City of San Marcos Municipal Airport hangars owned <br />and operated by the City sustained major damage from a windstorm. <br /> <br /> 2. The properties damaged are covered through the Texas Municipal League <br />Intergovernmental Risk Pool. <br /> <br /> 2. The City Council finds and determines that it is necessary to enter into this <br />construction contract on an emergency basis without formal competitive bidding in order <br />to preserve and protect the public health and safety of the City's residents. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br /> PART 1. The award of an emergency contract to the Gerloff Company, Inc. for <br />the Airport Windstorm Emergency Repair Project in the amount of $92,837.34 is approved. <br /> <br /> PART 2. The execution of the contract documents by Dan O'Leary, City <br />Manager, on behalf of the City is ratified. <br /> <br /> PART 3. <br />after its passage. <br /> <br />This Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately from and <br /> <br />ADOPTED this the llth day of August, <br /> <br />2003. <br /> <br />Attest: <br /> <br />J*~nis K.
