32. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2003-~i.35_R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR THE <br />PROPOSED VILLAGE OF SAN MARCOS; AND DECLARING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS <br /> <br /> 1. The Hays Caldwell Women's Center, the Hays Caldwell Council on Alcohol and Drug <br />Abuse, the San Marcos Area Food Bank, Commnnity Action of Hays, Caldwell and Blanco <br />Counties, the Salvation Army, and Homespun, acting as anchor organizations, have proposed the <br />development of the "Village of San Marcos' as a one-stop destination for clients Mad volunteers <br />of local private non-profit organizations. <br /> <br /> 2. The Village of SMa Marcos will allow area nonprofit organizations to share the <br />expenses common to all groups, like meeting space, grounds maintenance Mad teclmology needs, <br />while maintaining individual identities and services. <br /> <br /> 3. The City Council has allocated a portion of its 2003 Community Development Block <br />Grant funds in support of the development of the Village of San Marcos, and the Council wishes <br />to express its general support for the proposed Village of San Marcos project. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. The City Council supports the proposed Village of San Marcos project. <br /> <br />PART 2.
