d. In the event that a tree designated for protection and preserved in accordance <br />with this section dies within three years of being planted or, in the case of trees <br />planted on individual residential lots, three years from the issuance of a <br />certificate of occupancy for the lot, the loss of that tree shall be required to be <br />mitigated for in accordance with this section. <br />e.
