<br /> ) 2:; j) <br /> City of San Marcos <br /> Water Conservation Plan <br /> Page 3 <br /> (19) "Livestock use" means the use of water for drinking by or <br /> washing of livestock. "Livestock" means cattle, sheep, <br /> goats, hogs, poultry, horses, and game, domesti_c, exotic and <br /> other animals and birds, including zoo animals, used for <br /> commercial or personal purposes. <br /> (20) "Domestic type use" means the use of water, other than uses <br /> in the Outdoor category, for personal needs or for household <br /> purposes, such as drinking, bathing, cooling, heating, <br /> cooking, sanitation or cleaning, whether the use occurs in a <br /> residence or in a commercial or industrial facility. <br /> (21) "Industrial use" means the use of water integral to the <br /> production of primary goods and services provided by <br /> industrial or commercial facilities. Industrial facilities <br /> include facilities which perform such process-specific <br /> activities as cooling, oiler feed, cleaning and washing, <br /> pollution control, extraction and separation of desirable <br /> material from products and waste materials and the <br /> incorporation of water into final products. Commercial <br /> facilities include, but are not limited to, food service <br /> facilities, hotel, retail facilities and nursery operations. <br /> (22) "Makeup" means partial refilling due to evapgrative water <br /> loss and backwashing. <br /> (23) "Reused water" means water that has been recycled or <br /> reclaimed after it has been used for any beneficial purpose. <br /> STAGE l-AQUIFER AWARENESS <br /> 1. Trigger level: San Antonio index well J-17 at 660 or <br /> less feet above mean sea level. <br /> 2. Reduction goal: 10%. <br /> 3. Continue on-going education program, coordination <br /> activities, special use provisions, reuse and recycling <br /> program, fire hydrant and line monitoring, and programs <br /> with water purveyors and companies. <br /> 4. Waste of water is prohibited. <br /> 5. Penalty for violations of mandatory Stage 1 demand <br /> reduction measures: $25 to $100 per day fine for each <br /> violation. <br />
