6.5, <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2003- 143 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS APPROVING AN EMERGENCY CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT <br />WITH DU-MOR ENTERPRISES FOR THE MANHOLE AT THE MAIN LIFT <br />STATION EMERGENCY REPAIR PROJECT; APPROVING THE CITY <br />MANAGER'S EXECUTION OF CONTRACT DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF OF <br />THE CITY; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br /> 1. On July 23, 2003 the City Council was informed of the failure of a manhole <br />on one of the lines at the main lift station. <br /> <br />manhole. <br /> <br />Staffwas directed to proceed on an emergency basis with replacement of the <br /> <br /> 2. The City Council finds and determines that it is necessary to enter into this <br />construction contract on an emergency basis without formal competitive bidding in order <br />to preserve and protect the public health and safety of the City's residents. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br /> PART 1. The award of an emergency contract to Du-Mor Enterprises for tb.e <br />Manhole at the the Main Lift Station Emergency Repair Project in the amount of <br />$112,250.00 is approved. <br /> <br /> PART 2. The execution of the contract documents by Dan O'Leary, City <br />Manager, on behalf of the City is approved. <br /> <br /> PART 3.
