Adopted. <br /> There is hereby adopted, for the purposes of estab- <br /> lishing rules and regulations for the construction, in- <br /> stallation, alteration, removal, equipment, use, loca- <br /> tion and maintenance of electrical wiring, fixtures and <br /> equipment, including pennits and penalties, that ccr- <br /> lain electrical code known as the National Electrical <br /> Code, 1993 edition, recommended by the National Board <br /> of Firc Underwriters and the National Fire Protection <br /> Association, save and except such portions as are de- <br /> leted, modified or amended in this article. Not less than <br /> three copies of this code are filed in the office of the city <br /> building official. The National Electrical Code, 1993 edi- <br /> tion, is hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if <br /> set out in length in this article and, except as provided <br /> in this article, the provisions thereof shall be control- <br /> ling in the installation, maintenance and operation of <br /> electrical wiring, fixtures and equipment therein con- <br /> Wned within the corporate limits of the city except as <br /> excluded under section 18-71. <br /> (Ord. No. A-542, § 1(58-2),5-17-93) , <br /> Sec. 18-68. Amendments. <br /> The National Electrical Code adopted in this article <br /> is amended as set out below: <br /> Article 510. Article 510 is amended by adding para- <br /> graph 510-3 to read as follows: <br /> 510-3 Special Use Occupancy. In addition to other <br /> requirements of this code all commercial, hospital, <br /> school, theater, apartment, hotel and other buildings or <br /> structures, other than residential construction, where <br /> 50 or more persons may gather at anyone time, shall be <br /> wired oruy with not less protective wiring than thin <br /> wall conduit, rigid conduit or MI cable, flexible metallic <br /> tubing or conduit may be used as specified in article <br /> 349 of the National Electrical Code- <br /> (Ord. No. A-473, § 1(8-7),2-16-87) <br /> 4 <br />
