~7F-
COPS: PHASE I
GRANT ADMINISTRATION GUIDELINES FOR IMPLEMENTATION
This grant program will be administered under the same rules as the Police Hiring
- Supplement Program.
This grant is for three years. If there is a delay in the start up of the program, the end
date of the grant period may be extended at your request to accommodate a three
year period for each of the officers hired as part of this program.
These funds may only be used to pay for entry level, lateral transfers or for the rehiring
of laid-off officers only.
The only allowable expenditures are salary and fringe benefits.
The beginning date of the grant period for this project is October 1, 1994, no officers
funded under this project may be hired prior to that date.
Federal funds associated with the Program are intended to support newly sworn
officers, and may only be used to supplement the total number of employed officers or
budgeted positions specified at the date of award. The Federal funds ate not to be
used as a substitute for funds normally spent by State and/or local jurisdictions.
