70 RESOLUTION 1994- 179R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS APPROVING THE ADOPTION OF A NEW GENERAL PREVAILING WAGE RATE OF PER DIEM WAGES TO BE PAID ON CONTRACTS FOR BUILDING CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS FOR THE CITY¡ REPEALING ALL CONFLICTING RESOLUTIONS APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL WHICH PERTAINED TO THE ADOPTION OF PREVAILING WAGE RATES¡ AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. RECITALS: 1. Pursuant to Article 5159a, Vernon's Annotated Texas Statutes, the City Council approved a general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the City for each craft or type of workman or mechanic needed to execute public works construction contracts in Resolution 1991-89R. 2. Article 5159a has been amended to require the City to conduct a survey to determine the prevailing wage rate based upon wages received by classes of laborers and mechanics employed on projects of a character similar to the contract work in the City in which the work is to be performed or to adopt the prevailing wage rate as determined by the U.S. Department of Labor in accordance with the Davis-Bacon Act. ~ BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1. That all wage rate schedules previously adopted by the City Council] including Resolution 1991-89R are repealed. PART 2. That the general prevailing wage rate schedule for building construction projects, a copy of which is attached to and incorporated in this resolution for all intents and purposes, is approved and adopted for use on City building construction projects.
