<br /> 70 <br /> RESOLUTION 1994- 179R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS APPROVING THE ADOPTION OF A NEW <br /> GENERAL PREVAILING WAGE RATE OF PER DIEM WAGES TO <br /> BE PAID ON CONTRACTS FOR BUILDING CONSTRUCTION <br /> PROJECTS FOR THE CITY¡ REPEALING ALL CONFLICTING <br /> RESOLUTIONS APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL WHICH <br /> PERTAINED TO THE ADOPTION OF PREVAILING WAGE RATES¡ <br /> AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECITALS: <br /> 1. Pursuant to Article 5159a, Vernon's Annotated <br />Texas Statutes, the City Council approved a general <br />prevailing rate of per diem wages in the City for each craft <br />or type of workman or mechanic needed to execute public works <br />construction contracts in Resolution 1991-89R. <br /> 2. Article 5159a has been amended to require the <br />City to conduct a survey to determine the prevailing wage <br />rate based upon wages received by classes of laborers and <br />mechanics employed on projects of a character similar to the <br />contract work in the City in which the work is to be <br />performed or to adopt the prevailing wage rate as determined <br />by the U.S. Department of Labor in accordance with the <br />Davis-Bacon Act. <br /> ~ <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. That all wage rate schedules previously <br />adopted by the City Council] including Resolution 1991-89R <br />are repealed. <br /> PART 2. That the general prevailing wage rate <br />schedule for building construction projects, a copy of which <br />is attached to and incorporated in this resolution for all <br />intents and purposes, is approved and adopted for use on City <br />building construction projects. <br /> PART 3.
