RESOLUTION 2013 -08R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, REJECTING THE BIDS SUBMITTED FOR THE PURCHASE OF POLICE FULL SIZE PURSUIT UTILITY VEHICLES AND POLICE FULL SIZE PURSUIT SEDANS (IFB -213 -031) FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT; APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF FOUR POLICE FULL SIZE PURSUIT UTILITY VEHICLES AND THREE POLICE FULL SIZE PURSUIT SEDANS FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $170,816.00 FROM CALDWELL COUNTRY CHEVROLET THROUGH THE TEXAS LOCAL GOVERNMENT PURCHASING COOPERATIVE BUYBOARD AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. RECITALS: 1. On December 13, 2012, two (2) bids were received for the purchase of Police Full Size Pursuit Utility Vehicles and Police Full Size Pursuit Sedans (IFB - 213 -031). 2. Subsequent to the opening of these bids, City staff determined that the purchase price for the vehicles is lower through the Texas Local Government Purchasing Cooperative Buyboard than what was received through the City's bid process. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1. The bids received in response to an invitation for bids for the purchase of Police Full Size Pursuit Utility Vehicles and Police Full Size Pursuit Sedans (IFB- 213 -031) for the Police Department is rejected. PART 2. The purchase of four Police Full Size Pursuit Utility Vehicles and three Police Full Size Pursuit Sedans for the Police Department in the total amount of $170,816.00 (which includes a $400.00 Buyboard fee) from Caldwell Country Chevrolet through the Texas Local Government Purchasing Cooperative Buyboard is approved. PART 3. The Purchasing Manager is authorized to execute the appropriate purchasing documents on behalf of the City. PART 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately from and after its passage. ADOPTED this the 15th day of January, 2013.
