<br /> 89 <br /> RESOLUTION 1993- 71 R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOSr TEXASr DECLARING THE MONTH OF APRILr 1993 <br /> AS FAIR HOUSING MONTHr AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br /> DATE. <br /> WHEREASr the Fair Housing Act of 1968, as amendedr <br />prohibits discrimination in housing and declares. it a <br />national policy to provider within constitutional limitsr for <br />fair housing in the United States of America; andr <br /> WHEREASr the City of San Marcos adopted Chapter 32 <br />- Fair Housing of the San Marcos Code of Ordinances on April <br />26r 1976 in support of the Fair Housing Act of 1968; andr <br /> WHEREASr the principle of fair housing is not only <br />national policYr but is a fundamental human concept and <br />entitlement for all Americans; andr <br /> WHEREASr the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Fair <br />Housing Act, during the month of Aprilr provides an <br />opportunity for Americans to recognize that complete success <br />in the goal of equal housing opportunity can only be <br />accomplished with the help and cooperation of all Americans; <br />nowr thereforer ~ <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS r TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. That the month of April 1993 shall be <br />declared Fair Housing Month. <br /> PART 2.
