-
'1 O~

To: Larry Gilley
city Manager
Thru: George Boeker
Director of public Works
From: Ray Dinges
rndustrial pretreatment Manager
:e: May 4, 1993
ject: STATUS REPORT-TANK LINE LEAK PROJECT LPST #92680
.-..c present, site remediation activities of the Tank Line Leak
proj ect LPST #:92680 consist of pumping-treating of contaminated
groundwaters and sampling of plant influent-effluent and peripheral
monitoring well waters 1 the latter being tested at quarterly
intervals.
Total expenditures on the project as of May 3, 1993 amounted to
$1,801,801 of which $586,379 has been reimbursed. Assuming a
potential reimbursement cap of $2,000,000 (two leak events at one-
millon dollars each), some $198,199 remains for potential
--imbursement.
He have been previously informed, the TWC LPST Fund is depleted,
1 payment of potential reimbursement for site remediation
.penditures may be long-delayed. ¡
..le understand that cleanup criteria for petroleum-contaminated
soils-groundwaters are currently being reviewed and revised by the
TWC, which could result in' more lenient residual levels of
contamination allowed. Therefore, site closure time could be
reduced significantly, or , at 'least, partial site closure
(plugging of some bore-holes) may be ordered.
operational project costs during Fiscal year 1991-1992 (contractor
operated until April 5, 1992) were $649,185. operational costs for
Fiscal Year 1992 - 1993, (with last tTH'O quarters conservatively
estimated at $15,000) will be some $73,000, or a reduction of
$576,185 from the previous year.
