<br /> 61 <br /> RESOLUTION 1993- II? R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, ADOPTING A TRANSITION PLAN AS <br /> REQUIRED BY THE AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT, <br /> APPOINTING THE DIRECTOR OF PARKS AND RECREATION, <br /> RODNEY COBB, AS THE INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBLE FOR <br /> IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PLAN AND DECLARING AN <br /> EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, the Americans with Disabilities Act (the <br />11 ADA "), as hereinafter amended, guarantees equal opportunity <br />for individuals with disabilities in public accomodations, <br />emploYment, transportation, State and local government <br />services and programs and telecommunications; and, <br /> WHEREAS, under the ADA, the City is required to <br />prepare a transition plan in order to address structural <br />modificatiÓns required to achieve program and service <br />accessibility; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. That the City of San Marcos ADA Transition <br />Plan, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated <br />herein, is approved and adopted. <br /> PART 2. That the Director of Parks and Recreation, <br />Rodney Cobb, is responsible for the implementation of the <br />Transition Plan. <br /> PART 3. That the Transition Plan is a guidance and <br />planning document, and the Director of Parks and Recreation <br />is authorized to make reasonable and necessary and <br />modifications to and deviations from the plan in the course <br />of its implementation. I <br /> PART 4. That this Resolution shall be in full <br />force and effect immediately from and after its passage. <br /> ADOPTED this 28th da 0 June vti. ~ <br /> Kathy.
