<br />22 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 1993- 141 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING AN APPLICATION <br />TO THE TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE DEPARTMENT FOR <br />SAN MARCOS PARK AND WILDLIFE HABITAT PHASE II; <br />DESIGNATING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT ON BEHALF <br />OF THE CITY REGARDING THE GRANT APPLICATION; <br />CERTIFYING THAT THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS IS <br />i ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE GRANT PROGRAM; <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, section 13.309 of the Texas Parks & Wildlife Code <br />authorizes the State of Texas, and its political subdivisions, to <br />participate in public outdoor recreation projects involving federal <br />aid funds; and, <br /> <br />WHEREASI 'section 24.005 of the Texas Parks & Wildlife Code <br />allows political subdivisions of the State to obtain matching <br />grants for the development of local parks; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the city of San Marcos is fully eligible to receive <br />assistance under these programs; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY~OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. That the submission by the city Manager of the <br />application to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department dated July <br />30, i993 concerning a site to be known as San Marcos Park and <br />wildlife Habitat Phase II is hereby ratified. <br /> <br />PART 2. That the City Manager, Larry D. Gilley, is designated <br />to act on behalf of the City regarding this grant application. <br />i <br />, PART 3. That the City hereby ce:rtifies that it has sufficient <br />\ funds available to meet its share of the cost of the San Marcos <br />Park and wildlife Habitat Phase II proj ect, and is otherwise <br />eligible to receive grant assistance under the programs described <br />above. <br /> <br />PART 4. That the San Marcos Park and wildlife Habitat Phase <br />II will be dedicated upon completion of the proposed acquisition <br />for public outdoor recreation purposes in perpetuity. <br /> <br />PART 5.
