<br /> 5111 I <br /> .- <br /> SAN MARCOS ELECTRIC UTILITY <br /> ELECTRIC RATE SCHEDULES <br /> DEPOSITS <br /> Rate Schedule - Deposits <br /> Effective: June 1, 1993 Page 1 <br /> <br /> APPLICABILITY <br /> Each applicant for electric service by the City from the San Marcos Electric Utility System (the <br /> "City System"), excluding government agencies, will be required to make a cash deposit with <br /> the City to establish or re-establish credit before electric service will be rendered. However, an <br /> applicant will not be required to make a cash deposit if: <br /> a. the applicant is applying for a similar service and has been a customer of the <br /> City System at one location within the last twelve (12) months; has had service <br /> at that location for a minimum of three (3) years; and, during the last twenty <br /> four (24) consecutive months of service did not have more than two (2) <br /> occasions in which a bill for such electric serviced was paid after becoming <br /> delinquent; or <br /> . <br /> b. the applicant is applying for service pursuant to Rate Schedules LGS-Sec or <br /> LGS-Pri (large general service with monthly billing demands in excess of 500 <br /> kilowatts) and provides the City an irrevocable letter of credit from a bank or <br /> lending institution approved by the City in the amount equivalent to a deposit <br /> calculated pursuant to AMOUNT OF DEPOSIT provision of this rate schedule. <br /> Such letter of credit must be approved by the City Attorney and must contain a <br /> provision that any litigation concerning the letter of credit must be filed in Hays <br /> County, Texas. <br /> AMOUNT OF DEPOSIT <br /> The required deposit for residential customers shall be the greater of: <br /> (a) $50.00; or <br /> (b) an amount equal to one sixth (1/6) of either the estimated annual billings to that <br /> service location or an estimated annual billing to other similar residential <br /> accounts of the City. <br /> The required deposit for customers other than residential customers shall be set by the City <br /> based on any or all of the following: <br /> (a) the square footage of the customer's premises; <br /> (b) previous levels of consumption and billings at the customer's location; <br /> (c) the type of business to be operated by the customer; <br />
