<br /> 61 <br /> RESOLUTION 1993- 150 R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING AN EMERGENCY PURCHASE OF <br /> PUMPS FOR LIFT STATION 11 IN ORDER TO PRESERVE AND <br /> PROTECT THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY OF THE CITY'S <br /> RESIDENTS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE <br /> THE REQUISITION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY; AND <br /> DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, Lift Station 11 handles approximately <br /> 142,500 gallons of wastewater per day; and, <br /> WHEREAS, Lift Station 11 is located at the <br /> intersection of Bishop and L.B.J. and is situated over the <br /> environmentally sensitive Edwards Underground Aquifer <br /> recharge zone; and <br /> WHEREAS, in order to preserve and protect the <br /> public health and safety of the City's residents it is <br /> necessary to purchase a sewage pump and back-up pump for Lift <br /> Station 11 without the normal bidding process in order to <br /> avert the possibility of an overflow of wastewater onto <br /> private property which would be a violation o£ the City's <br /> permits and the Texas Natural Resources Conservation <br /> Commission Rules concerning the Edwards Aquifer; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. That an emergency purchase of two Yeoman <br /> pumps from Triple "D" of Waco, Texas in the amount of <br /> $24,790.00 to preserve and protect the public health and <br /> safety of the City's residents is approved. <br /> PART 2. That the City Manager, Larry D. Gilley is <br /> hereby authorized to execute the requisition on behalf of the <br /> City. <br /> PART 3.
