<br /> 94 <br /> RESOLUTION 1993- 164R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING A CONTRACT <br /> BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE SAN MARCOS CHAMBER OF , <br /> COMMERCE FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF HOTEL <br /> r~ OCCUPANCY TAX FUNDS DURING THE CITY'S 1993-94 <br /> FISCAL YEAR; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO <br /> EXECUTE THIS CONTRACT; AND DECLARING AN <br /> EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, the State Legislature has authorized Texas cities to <br /> collect an occupancy tax on hotel and motel rooms and has approved <br /> certain expenditures from the proceeds of this occupancy tax in <br /> Chapter 351, ,Texas Tax Code; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the city Council of the city of San Marcos has levied <br /> a hotel occupancy tax, as enacted in Article II of Chapter 26 of <br /> the Code of Ordinances of the city of San Marcos; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the city Council wishes to contract with the San <br /> Marcos Chamber of Commerce for the administration qf a portion of <br /> the funds collected from the hotel occupancy tax, now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. That the Convention and Visitors Bureau budget of the <br /> San Marcos Chamber of Commerce for the 1993--94 fiscal year, a copy <br /> of which is attached to the contract approved herein, is hereby <br /> approved. <br /> PART 2. That the terms and conditions of the Contract for <br /> Tourism Promotional Services between the city of San Marcos, Texas, <br /> and the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce for the administration of <br /> funds collected pursuant to Article II of Chapter 26 of the Code of <br /> Ordinances of the City and Chapter 351, Texas Tax Code, a copy of <br /> which contract is attached hereto and incorporated herein for all <br /> intents and purposes, are hereby approved. <br /> PART 3. That the city Manager, Larry D. Gilley, is hereby <br /> authorized to execute this contract on behalf of the city of San <br /> Marcos. <br /> PART 4.
