<br />(Y) <br />I ~ ~ ~~ 1 <br />¡O~ ~ ~~ 3 <br />0 --..... <br />Iiù~ .s ~..... <br />Q-b - ~~ <br />-Bf :n- <br />IL~ ~ i=; <br />;f Qa <br />ORDINANCE 1993- 86 <br />- ---- <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE QUALIFICATIONS FOR <br />APPOINTMENT TO THE CITY ELECTRICAL BOARD; PROVIDING <br />FOR SEVERABILITY; REPEALING ALL CONFLICTING <br />ORDINANCES; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That section 5-136(a) of the San Marcos Code of <br />Ordinances is amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />(a) The electrical board is established. The board <br />shall consist of six (6) members, five (5) of whom shall <br />have voting rights and three (3) of whom shall constitute <br />a quorum. One (1) member shall be a representative of the <br />electric utility department nominated by the electric <br />utility board and approved by the city council. Three (3) <br />members shall be master electricians who are currently <br />licensed by the city, and who obtained kheir licenses <br />through testing in the city. One member may be either such <br />an electrician, or a resident of the city. The sixth <br />member shall be appointed by the building official from the <br />official's staff and shall have no voting rights. <br /> <br /> <br />SECTION 2. That if any word, phrase, clause, sentence, or <br />paragraph of this ordinance is held to be unconstitutional or <br />invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining <br />provisions of this ordinance shall. remain in effect as if the <br />unconstitutional or invalid portion ,had not been adopted. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. That all ordinances and resolutions or parts of <br />ordinances or resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. <br /> <br />SECTION 4.
