Pledtes of Allegiance - United States and Texas <br />Zee Soto, 5 t grade student, at Hernandez Elementary led the pledges. <br />7. 30 Minute Citizen Comment Period <br />Camille Phillips, Franklin Dr, addressed her upcoming fall prevention class. She also addressed <br />the Cape's Camp item and stated that she felt that online college courses will potentially become <br />more popular and thus not requiring additional housing for students. <br />Charles Austin, 514 Duncan Dr, addressed the Council regarding the development and growth of <br />San Marcos and would like to see it to continue to grow. He asked the Council to approve the <br />PDD because it will revitalize that area. <br />Kenneth Dees, 1412 Alamo St, addressed the Council regarding the development proposed for <br />the Cape's Camp area. He stated that the Neighborhood Commission and CONA should be <br />included in decision making regarding developments in neighborhoods. He continued speaking <br />against development and rezoning in established neighborhoods. <br />Chuck Nash, 109 E. Mimosa Circle, addressed the Council regarding the development and <br />growth along the San Marcos River. He spoke in favor of the project and stated that he believes <br />that the project has been vetted. <br />Jaimy Breihan, 134 E. Hillcrest Dr., addressed the Council regarding his concerns about previous <br />projects and how Council Members chose to listen to those concerns. <br />Ted Breihan, 111 W. Hillcrest, addressed the Council regarding flooding in the Cape's Camp <br />area. He stated that this is not a good location to build apartments and place more people. He <br />stated that the Council should go in with the County and State in turning this land into a nice <br />park. <br />David Wendel, 118 E. Holland, addressed the Council regarding the projects that are single room <br />occupancy. For years the planning departments has been pushing these off as multifamily <br />developments, and he feels this is disingenuous and not true. Families cannot live in these <br />developments. These only cater to college students. <br />Cynthia Cruz, 310 Juarez St, addressed the Council regarding the proposed development of <br />Cape's Camp. She stated that she and her neighborhood are against this development. She <br />stated that they were once promised street improvements and sidewalks and that nothing has <br />been done. She stated that they could not handle any additional traffic burden. <br />Kevin Romin, 101 Sierra Vista, addressed the Council regarding the Cape's Camp rezoning <br />project.
