<br />Sec. 29-58. Parking bicycles. <br /> <br />No person shall park a bicycle in a public place except upon <br />a street parallel to and no more then 18 inches from the curb <br />or upon a sidewalk in a rack designed to support the bicycle <br />or against a building. The bicycle shall be secured in such <br />a manner as to afford the least obstruction to pedestrian <br />traffic. <br /> <br />Sec. 29-59. Riding bicycles on sidewalks. <br /> <br />(a) It shall be unlawful for a person to ride a bicycle, <br />adul t-sized tricycle, roller skates, skateboard or any <br />similar device or vehicle on any sidewalk wi thin the <br />central business district of the city. <br /> <br />(b) 'fuenever any person is riding a bicycle upon a sidewalk, <br />such person shall yield the right-of-way to any <br />pedestrian and shall give an audible signal before <br />overtaking and passing such pedestrian. <br /> <br />Sec. 29-68 - 29-65 Reserved. <br /> <br />ARTICLE V. TRUCK TRAFFIC <br /> <br />Sec. 29-66. Truck routes. <br /> <br />(a) The traffic engineer is hereby authorized to determine <br />and designate by signs, appropriate routes for commercial <br />vehicles larger than one (1) ton capacity to travel <br />through the City. <br /> <br />(b) All truck routes established by authority of this section <br />shall be recorded in the Traffic Register. <br /> <br />(c) When signs are placed designating a truck route through <br />the City, it shall be unlawful for an operator of a <br />vehicle restricted to truck routes to depart from such <br />designated routes except as provided under Section 29-68. <br /> <br />Sec. 29-67. Alternate truck routes. <br /> <br />When a street designated as a truck route is under repair or <br />otherwise temporarily out of use, the traffic engineer is <br />authorized to designate alternate truck routes. <br /> <br />Sec. 29-68. Departure from routes. <br /> <br />(a) The operator of a vehicle restricted to truck routes <br />under this Article may depart from such routes under the <br />following conditions: <br /> <br />(1) Such departure is necessary to reach a terminal or to <br />load or unload materials at a location situated off <br />of the applicable route~ and <br /> <br />(2) Such departure follows the shortest practical route <br />consistent with the reasonable operation of the <br />vehicle~ and <br /> <br />(3) The operator of such vehicle keeps in such operator1s <br />possession a log book, delivery slips, or other <br />evidence of such operator's destination and point of <br />origin. <br /> <br />(b) The operator shall allow a police officer, upon request, <br />to inspect the log book, delivery slips or other evidence <br />of such operator's destination and point of origin. <br /> <br />Sec. 29-69 - 29-75 Reserved. <br /> <br />-11- <br />
