<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
<br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, CANVASSING RETURNS AND
<br />DECLARING RESULTS OF THE SPECIAL AND GENERAL
<br />ELECTION HELD ON MAY 2, 1992 FOR THE PURPOSE
<br />OF ELECTING A MAYOR, A CITY COUNCIL MEMBER,
<br />PLACE ONE, AND A CITY COUNCIL MEMBER, PLACE
<br />TWO AND SUBMITTING TO THE VOTERS VARIOUS
<br />PROPOSITIONS INCLUDING PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO
<br />THE CITY CHARTER AND A PROPOSED LEASE OF CITY
<br />PARK PROPERTY TO THE GREATER SAN MARCOS LITTLE
<br />LEAGUE, INC.; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, by
<br />ordinance duly enacted on February 10,1992, ordered that a Special
<br />and General election be held on May 2, 1992 for the purpose of
<br />electing a Mayor, a City Council Member, Place One and a City
<br />Council Member, Place Two and submitting to the voters various
<br />propositions including proposed amendments to the City Charter and
<br />a proposed lease of City park property to the Greater San Marcos
<br />Little League, Inc. and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, notice of this election was duly published in the San
<br />Marcos Daily Record on April 5, 1992 and April 12, 1992; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, copies of this notice were duly posted at each city
<br />election precinct polling place prior to the election, and a copy
<br />of the notice was posted on the bulletin board at City Hall on
<br />March 23, 1992; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, this election was duly and legally held on the 2nd
<br />day of May, 1992, in conformity with the election laws of the State
<br />of Texas, and the results of the election have been certified and
<br />returned by the proper judges and clerks thereof; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas
<br />with the following members present: Billy G. Moore, Rick Hernandez,
<br />Ronald K. Hart, Kathy M. Morris, Fred Guerra, Betty Jane Kissler
<br />and Bill Plummer has today considered the returns of
<br />the Special and General election held on the 2nd day of May~ 1992;
<br />and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, it appears to the Council, and the Council so finds,
<br />that the election was in all respects lawfully held; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, it appears to the Council, and the Council so finds,
<br />that the tabulation of the results of the election is correct; now,
<br />therefore,
<br />
<br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
<br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS:
<br />
<br />SECTION 1. That the Special and General City election of May
<br />2, 1992 was duly called, that notice of the election was given in
<br />accordance with law, and that the election was held in accordance
<br />with law.
<br />
<br />SECTION 2. That the tabulation of votes cast in the Special
<br />and General election held on May 2, 1992 for the purpose of
<br />electing a Mayor, a City Council Member, Place One, and a City
<br />Council Member, Place Two, and submitting to the voters various
<br />propositions including proposed amendments to the City Charter and
<br />a proposed lease of City park property to the Greater San Marcos
<br />Little League, Inc., made and certified to by the City Secretary of
<br />the City of San Marcos, a copy of which is attached hereto and made
<br />a part hereof, is hereby adopted as the official tabulation of the
<br />votes cast at the election, and that the tabulation be filed and
<br />
