RESOLUTION 2013 -60R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND BUREAU VERITAS NORTH AMERICA, INC. FOR THE PROVISION OF INTERIM BUILDING OFFICAL SERVICES IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $170,000.00 WHICH INCLUDES AN INCREASE OF $121,000.00 ABOVE THE PREVIOUS CONTRACT AMOUNT OF $49,000.00; RATIFYING THE ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER'S EXECUTION OF THIS AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE AUTHORIZATION OF CHANGE IN SERVICES NO. 1 ON BEHALF OF THE CITY AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. RECITALS 1. On February 7, 2013, the City entered into an agreement with Bureau Veritas North America, Inc. (the "Official ") for the provision of interim building official services (the "Agreement ") in an estimated not -to- exceed amount of $49,000.00. 2. Due to staffing shortages in the City's Building Inspections Department it is necessary to extend the Agreement with the Official for additional services. 3. The approval of Authorization of Change in Services ( "ACIS ") No. 1 will cause the Agreement to exceed the previous Agreement amount of $49,000.00, and will trigger the need for City Council approval of the Agreement. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1. The Agreement between the City and the Official dated February 7, 2013, for the provision of interim building official services in the total amount of $170,000.00, which includes an increase of $121,000.00 above the previous contract amount of $49,000.00 is approved. PART 2. The Assistant City Manager's execution of the Agreement on behalf of the City is ratified and the City Manager or his designee is authorized to execute ACIS No. 1 on behalf of the City. PART 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately from and after its passage. ADOPTED this the 16th day of April, 2013.
