Canplete Survey Inventory Form, collect photographs fran private collections and <br /> duplicate, research library and newspapers for articles, photograph in B & W' all <br /> structures on San Antonio St. and have contact sheets prepared. Begin narrative <br /> work for National Register Nanination. <br /> #2. Purchase five Historical Marker Directional Signs for placement on City Limit <br /> signs at IH-35 North and South, St. Hwy. 80, St. Hwy. 123, and RR-12. <br /> #3. Order five additional Local Markers like nine placed downtown already. <br /> #4. Order Local Marker for Franklin St. Tree as a San Marcos Historical Landmark. <br /> #5. Send 3 Cannissions and 1 staff member to CLG Conference. .-'.-. .- . <br /> . ==:":::= <br /> METHODOWGY: <br /> #1. Research work will be done by Carmissioners and staff. <br /> #2. Staff will order and purchase, signs will be sent to State Hwy. Dept. District <br /> Office for installation. <br /> #3. Staff will order and install Local Marker plaques. Commission will provide <br /> anecdotes for plaques. <br /> #4. Commissioners will research history and write text for marker. Staff will <br /> ~ <br /> order Local Marker and install. <br /> #5. Travel and registration to State Certified Local Government Program. <br /> GOALS: <br /> #1. Achieve National Register of Historic Places designation for San Antonio St. <br /> #2. Direct out-of-town traffic to three Historic Districts within San Marcos. <br /> #3. Continue Local Marker Progra:n begun with 1992-1993 CLG Grant. <br /> #4. Erect a Local Marker for San Marcos Historical Landmark previously designated <br /> I <br /> by City Council, but never provided with monumentation. <br /> #5.
