<br />58 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Regular Meeting April 11, 1983 Page 3 <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration the adoption of an Ordin- <br />ance on third and final reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, GRANTING TO TRANSPORTATION ENTERPRISES, <br />INCORPORATED, A FRANCHISE FOR FIVE (5) YEARS TO OPERATE <br />AND MAINTAIN A MOTOR BUS SYSTEM FOR THE TRANSPORTATION <br />OF PERSONS AND PROPERTY UPON THE PUBLIC STREETS AND <br />HIGHWAYS OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, PURSUANT <br />TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE CONSTITUTION AND LAWS OF <br />THE STATE OF TEXAS, THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, AND THE CODES AND ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS; SETTING TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR THE OPERA- <br />TION OF SAID TRANSPORTATION ENTERPRISE AND DECLARING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Kreczmer moved for the adoption of the Ordinance on third and final <br />reading and Mr. Farr seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration the adoption of an Ordin- <br />ance on third and final reading, the caption 'which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 29-123 OF THE CODE <br />OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY TO ADD FOUR LOCATIONS WITH- <br />IN SAID CITY AT WHICH PARKING SHALL BE PROHIBITED; <br />DECLARING A PENALTY, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Brown moved for adoption of the Ordinance on third and final read- <br />ing and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration the adoption of a Resolu- <br />tion, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS CALLING UPON THE PRESIDENT TO PROPOSE <br />A FREEZE IN THE ARMS RACE; CALLING UPON THE PRESIDENT <br />AND CONGRESS TO RETURN THE FUNDS SAVED TO CIVILIAN <br />USE AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Moore moved for adoption of the Resolution and Ms. Kissler second- <br />ed the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration the adoption of a Resolu- <br />tion, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS <br />OF A LEASE WITH MICROLON, INC. OF A PORTION OF SAN <br />MARCOS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT FOR AIRCRAFT OR AVIATION <br />PURPOSES; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS TO EXECUTE SAID LEASE ON BEHALF OF SAID CITY <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Farr moved for the adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Guerra second- <br />ed the motion. Dinah Elwell said the lease was for aircraft or aviation <br />purposes only but that it had come to her attention an amendment to the <br />lease may be needed to prohibit the storage of any chemicals on the <br />leased premises. Mayor Craddock moved the Resolution be tabled to <br />amend the lease, but there was no second. Mr. Farr then moved the <br />terms of the lease include an amendment that no combustible chemicals <br />other than the fuel stored in the airplane's own fuel tank could be <br />stored on the leased premises, and violation of this would void the <br />lease. Mr. Brown seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor <br />Craddock then moved to table this Resolution until the amendment could <br />be added to the lease and presented to the Council and Ms. Kissler se- <br /> <br />conded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />
