RESOLUTION NO. 2013-78R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS AUTHORIZING A REQUEST FOR FINANCIAL <br />ASSISTANCE FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF <br />TRANSPORTATION FOR THE ACQUISITION OF APPROXIMATELY <br />42 ACRES OF LAND ADJACENT TO TAXIWAY J AT THE SAN <br />MARCOS REGIONAL AIRPORT FOR AIRPORT PURPOSES AT AN <br />ESTIMATED PROJECT COST OF $650,000.00; AUTHORIZING THE <br />USE OF CITY FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF 10 PERCENT OF THE <br />COSTS FOR SUCH PROJECT; NAMING THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT <br />OF TRANSPORTATION AS THE CITY'S AGENT FOR PURPOSES OF <br />ADMINISTERING FUNDS AND CONTRACTS RELATED TO THE <br />PROJECT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL <br />CONTRACTS AND AGREEMENTS WITH THE STATE OF TEXAS, AND <br />SUCH OTHER PARTIES AS SHALL BE NECESSARY AND <br />APPROPRIATE FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROJECT; <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECITALS: <br />1. The City of San Marcos intends to make certain improvements to the San Marcos <br />Regional Airport ( "HYI "). <br />2. The general description of the project is described as the acquisition of <br />approximately 42 acres of land adjacent to Taxiway J (the "Project "). <br />3. The City of San Marcos intends to request financial assistance from the Texas <br />Department of Transportation for the Project. <br />4. The City of San Marcos will be responsible for 10 percent of the total. Project <br />costs currently estimated to be $650,000.00. <br />5. The City of San Marcos names the Texas Department of Transportation as its <br />agent for the purposes of applying for, receiving and disbursing all funds for these improvements <br />and for the administration of contracts necessary for the implementation of the Project. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. That the City of San Marcos hereby directs the City Manager to execute <br />on behalf of the City of San Marcos, at the appropriate time, and with the appropriate <br />authorizations of the City Council, all contracts and agreements with the State of Texas, <br />represented by the Texas Department of Transportation, and such other parties as shall be <br />necessary and appropriate for the implementation of the Project and improvements to the San <br />Marcos Regional Airport ( "HYI "). <br />
