112 RESOLUTION 1991- 27 R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPOINTING PRESIDING JUDGES AND ALTERNATE JUDGES TO SERVE IN THE JOINT GENERAL AND SPECIAL ELECTION OF THE CITY TO BE HELD ON MAY 4, 1991~ CHARGING EACH JUDGE WITH THE DUTY TO HOLD THIS ELECTION IN HIS/HER RESPECTIVE POLLING PLACE FOR EACH RESPECTIVE PRECINCT~ APPOINTING A PRESIDING JUDGE OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING STATION, A TABULATION SUPERVISOR OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING STATION, AND A CENTRAL COUNTING STATION MANAGER~ APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE PRESIDING JUDGE OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING STATION OF CERTAIN CLERKS~ APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE TABULATION SUPERVISOR OF CERTAIN ASSISTANTS~ APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE ABSENTEE VOTING CLERK OF CERTAIN ASSISTANT ABSENTEE VOTING CLERKS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on February 11, 1991, the City Council of the City of San r.1arcos, Texas, adopted an ordinance ordering the holding of a joint general election by the City and the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District on May 4, 1991, establishing the rate of compensation to be paid judges, clerks, and assistants to the tabulation supervisor for services rendered during the election, making provisions for the conduct of the election and other provisions incident to the purposes thereof, and declaring an emergency~ and, WHEREAS, Section 6 of that ordinance provides that the City Council of the City shall by resolution duly adopted, appoint presiding and alternate judges to serve in the election at the polling places for the respective precincts set forth in Section 5 thereof, and that ordinance further ordains that it shall be each judge' s duty to hold the election in the precincts and that any vacancies occurring after the appointment of the judges may be filled by subsequent resolution(s) of the City Council~ and, WHEREAS, Section 17 of that ordinance provides that the City Council of the City shall, by resolution duly adopted, appoint a Presiding Judge of the Central Counting Station, a Tabulation Supervisor of the Central Counting Station, and a Central Counting Station Manager~ now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1.
