<br /> attached hereto and made a part hereof, is hereby adopted as <br /> the official tabulation of the votes cast at the election and <br /> that the tabulation be filed and recorded in the official <br /> records of the City of San Marcos as the official canvass of <br /> the election. <br /> SECTION 3. Tha t the official canvass of the returns of <br /> the election reflects the following: <br /> A. That the following person was duly elected City <br /> Council Member, Place Five of -b'he City of San <br /> Marcos: <br /> Billy G. Moore <br /> B. That the following person was duly elected City <br /> Council Member, Place Six of the City of San <br /> Marcos: <br /> Bill Plummer <br /> proposition No. 1 <br /> The rededication for the construction and operation of a <br /> city library and for park purposes a tract of land up to <br /> 3.5 acres in si ze out of a 25 acre, more or less, tract <br /> of city-owned land located across Hopkins Street from <br /> City Hall and bordered by East Hopkins Street, West Bugg <br /> Lane, and railroad right-of-way. <br /> Votes for Proposition No.1: 1128 <br /> Votes against Proposition No. 1: 368 <br /> SECTION 4. That the importance of this Ordinance <br /> creates an emergency and an imperative public necessity so <br /> that the provisions of the Charter requiring that ord.i&nances <br /> shall be presented at three separate meetings and that no <br /> ordinance shall become ef,fective until the expiration of ten <br /> (lØ) days following the date of its final pas::ta:ge be <br /> suspended, and these provisions are hereby suspended, and <br /> this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and <br /> effect from and after its adoption and after its publication <br /> in a newspaper of general circulation in the area as required <br /> by the Charter of the City of San Marcos. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED <br /> Attest: <br /> ~~ø~ <br /> Janis K. ~vomack <br /> City Secretary <br /> Approved: <br /> ~~ <br /> Mark B.
