<br /> this report: status of respondent (student or non-student), <br /> neighborhood, nature of residence (ETJ or inner city), and <br /> race and ethnicity. <br /> (See Table 2a) <br /> In can be seen in Tablè 2a that the general patterns <br /> previously noted remain for all categories of respondents. <br /> That is, all groups tend to rate highly fire, emergency <br /> medical, and library services; all tend to rate poorly street <br /> maintenance. But, some interesting variances are noted. For <br /> example, a much higher proportion of students rate street <br /> maintenance as "excellent" or "good" than do residents (31. 2% <br /> compared with 19.5%). Similarly, students give "police <br /> services" a somewhat lower rating than do residents. <br /> Residents in the South sector tend to rate more <br /> favorably police and fire services than residents of other <br /> sectors, but they are much more critical of drainage and <br /> storm sewer service and street maintenance than are residents <br /> of other sectors. Residents of the ETJ tend to rate all <br /> services more highly than. residents of other sections with <br /> the exception of garbage pick-up and animal control. For the <br /> most part, only small and statistically insignificant <br /> differences are noted between the various racial and ethnic <br /> groups, except that Anglos are much less favorable toward <br /> <br /> 10 <br />
