<br />The City plans to continue the increasing block rate structure, with rate adjustments <br />implemented as needed. Future adjustments may include higher seasonal water rates, steeper <br />tiers to target high water users, and wastewater rates based on winter averaging. <br /> <br />5.5 Public Information <br />The City maintains an active public information program to educate water customers <br />about the importance of water conservation, and to inform them of effective water conservation <br />techniques. The goal is to reach all water customers through various methods including: <br />. written materials such as press releases, newsletter articles, and bill inserts; <br />. visual materials such as recharge zone and vehicle signage; <br />. water conservation website; <br />. representation at public events such as the Business Expo and Earth Day; and <br />. presentations for local groups, clubs, and organizations. <br />The City will continue to develop and expand the public information program as <br />additional resources become available. Future public information programs may include: <br />regularly scheduled mailouts and newspaper ads, billboard advertising, partnering with <br />neighboring water purveyors to provide radio/television spots, and participation in state-wide <br />conservation campaigns. <br /> <br />5.6 School Education <br />The City is dedicated to increasing water awareness in local public and private schools. <br />The goal is to reach all K-12 students through a variety of school education activities including: <br />. participation in TSU Groundwater Festival; <br />. distribution of water conservation book covers; <br />. water conservation book cover design contest; <br />. sponsorship of the Major Rivers water education curricula; and <br />. classroom presentations and teacher workshops. <br />The City will continue to expand the water education program as additional education resources <br />become available. <br /> <br />9 <br />
