2.1.6 Conduct field survey. Obtain a detailed topographical and tree survey within the <br />existing right-of-way. <br />2.1.7 Conduct geotechnical investigation (See Attachment 1, Raba Kistner Scope of <br />Services) and develop project pavement design. Slope stability, embankment <br />recommendations and retaining wall testing and recommendations are not included <br />in this scope of services and can be added by supplemental agreement. <br />2.1.8 Meet with the City of San Marcos design team to explore their expectations for the <br />proposed water quality treatment. Examine constraints along the route (residential, <br />commercial, infrastructure). <br />2.1.9 Obtain backup information about current flooding problems on Sara Street just <br />north of Old RR 12 from the City of San Marcos. <br />2.1.10 Conduct a "Planning Meeting" with TCEQ to identify any options that will be <br />unacceptable to the permit agency. <br />2.1.11 Coordinate and meet with TxState University-San Marcos on the possibility of <br />constructing a sidewalk on Holland Street to connect the proposed sidewalk to <br />TxState. <br />2.2 Preliminary Engineering Report. Halff will prepare a Preliminary Engineering Report <br />that will include the following. <br />2.2.1 Project introduction and overview <br />2.2.2 Summary of data collection <br />2.2.3 Summary utility of replacement option(s) <br />2.2.4 Horizontal alignment of all existing utilities and identify possible conflicts <br />2.2.5 A preliminary opinion of cost and schedule for the selected water and wastewater <br />option <br />2.2.6 Identification of existing and proposed easements <br />2.2.7 Replacement recommendations <br />2.2.8 A description of the process of decommissioning lift stations <br />2.2.9 Schematic exhibits of proposed options /alignments. Plans shall be at a 1" = 40' <br />scale and done in Microstation (.dgn) format using available GIS and aerial <br />imagery for the recommended option <br />2.2.10 Comparison of each option/alignment with a preliminary opinion of cost for each <br />option. <br />2.2.11 Identification of need for additional investigations such as subsurface utility <br />engineering (SUE), geotechnical, etc. <br />2.2.12 Pavement design options <br />2.2.13 Preliminary cross section design showing pavement surface, sidewalks, and side <br />slope routines in order to verify that project will require no additional ROW <br />
