Mayor
Craddock then moved to appoint John Kreczmer to CAPCO and Ms. Kissler
seconded the motion. On roll call the following vote was recorded:
AYE: Brown, Farr, Craddock, Kissler, Moore.
NAY: None.
ABSTAIN: Kreczmer.
Mayor Craddock opened a public hearing to consider approval of a Zoning
Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE
WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF
BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED SEPTEMBER 29,
1980 (VOL. 54) BY ZONING 1. 00 ACRE, MORE OR LESS, OUT
OF THE J. M. VERAMENDI SURVEY NO. 1 IN HAYS COUNTY,
TEXAS, A/K/A 1808 HUNTER ROAD, FROM "AO" (AGRICULTUR-
AL-OPEN SPACE DISTRICT) TO "c" (CO.f\1MERCIAL DISTRICT).
Mayor Craddock asked if anyone wished to speak in favor of the zoning
request. Bridgette Alexander, representing the owner of the property,
Homer Hamilton, stated she was present to answer any questions the
Council may have in regard to the request. The Zoning Commission
recommended approval of the zoning request and Joe Garza advised
there were traffic problems in the area, and right-of-way was needed.
He also advised that the Master Plan Land Use Map designated this
area as open space for creekbed, even though the property is currently
being utilized as commercial. No one else wished to speak in favor or
against the Zoning change, so Mayor Craddock closed the public hearing.
Mayor Craddock then moved to table consideration of the Ordinance until
such time as the Land Use Map of the Master Plan is changed to reflect
this zoning and Mr. Brown seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
Mayor Craddock announced the Council would receive a report from the
Chairman of the Ethics Review Commission, Brenda Smith. Ms. Smith
indicated in reviewing the financial disclosure statements the Commis-
sion determined a need for amendments to the requirements, which were
being presented to the Council in the next agenda item, the only major
change being an extension of the filing period for the financial dis-
closure statements from April 15-April 30 to March 15-April 30.
Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance
on first reading, the caption which was read as follows:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTIONS 2-82 (a) AND 2-83 (a)
OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY TO CHANGE THE
FILING DATES FOR FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE STAT~ENTS OF
CITY OFFICIALS AND TO CLARIFY WHICH PERSONS ARE RE-
QUIRED TO FILE THE STATEMENTS DESCRIBED IN SECTION
2-83 AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
Mayor Craddock moved to approve the Ordinance on first reading and
Mr. Farr seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
