<br /> 63 <br /> Regular Meeting July 25, 1983 Page 5 <br /> Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance <br /> on third and final reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE <br /> WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE <br /> OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED SEPTEMBER <br /> 29, 1980 (VOL. 54) BY ZONING TRACT ONE, CONSISTING <br /> OF 1.33 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, OF LAND AREA IN THE J. <br /> M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE NO. 1 SURVEY, HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS, <br /> A/K/A 2411 HUNTER ROAD, FROM "AO" (AGRICULTURAL-OPEN <br /> SPACE DISTRICT) TO "LI" (LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT), <br /> AND TRACT TWO, CONSISTING OF 1. 00 ACRE, MORE OR LESS, <br /> OF LAND AREA IN THE J. M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE NO. 1 SUR- <br /> VEY, HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS, A/K/A 2413 HUNTER ROAD, FROM <br /> "AO" (AGRICULTURAL-OPEN SPACE DISTRICT) TO "LI" (LIGHT <br /> INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT). <br /> Mayor Craddock moved for adoption of the Ordinance and Ms. Kissler <br /> seconded the motion. Mayor Craddock asked Joe Garza the reasoning <br /> in LI zoning rather than C zoning. Mr. Garza indicated the staff <br /> recommended LI zoning, as the City will have more control of its <br /> development and the Land Use Map reflects LI zoning for this area. <br /> The Council unanimously voted for the adoption of the Ordinance. <br /> Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of authorization <br /> of $14,000.00 from contingency funds for the purchase of a right-of- <br /> way easement from Robert Anderson. Mr. Farr moved for approval of <br /> the allocation of contingency funds and Mr. Brown seconded the motion, <br /> which passed unanimously. <br /> Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration authorization of $2,900.00 <br /> from contingency funds for the purchase of a new fogging machine <br /> ($2,400.00 plus shipping) and repair of the old fogging machine <br /> ($500.00 estimated) for the Health Department for mosquito infesta- <br /> tions. Mr. Kreczmer moved for approval of the allocation of contingency <br /> funds and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion. On roll call the following <br /> vote was recorded: <br /> AYE: Brown, Craddock, Kissler, Kreczmer, Moore. <br /> NAY: Farr. <br /> ABSTAIN: None. <br /> Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of a tax refund to <br /> Scrutchin Properties, Inc. in the amount of $455.61 due to overpayment. <br /> Ms. Kissler moved to approve the refund payment and Mr. Brown seconded <br /> the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval to close North LBJ <br /> Street from university Drive to Concho, on September 4 and 5, 1983, in <br /> connection with the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Telethon. Marcus <br /> Miller, who is the Coordinator of the MDA events stated they wanted the <br /> street closed during the daytime hours while the events were going on <br /> for safety protection, as they were expecting the participation of many <br /> people, but that the street would be open at night. He stated they had <br /> received approval of the Police Department, Fire Department and EMS and <br /> would have the Sheriff's Department providing security. He also stated <br /> the MDA workers would be responsible for cleaning up their trash. Mr. <br /> Kreczmer moved for approval to close the street and Ms. Kissler seconded <br /> the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />
