RESOLUTION 2013 -105R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS APPROVING AN ANNUAL CONTRACT (INCLUDING THE FIRST EXTENSION) WITH CAPITOL CITY JANITORIAL, INC. FOR THE PROVISION OF CARPET AND FLOOR CLEANING SERVICES IN THE ESTIMATED ANNUAL CONTRACT AMOUNT OF $44,775.56; AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS RELATED TO THIS CONTRACT EXTENSION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. RECITALS: 1. On August 15, 2012, the City administratively awarded an annual contract to Capitol City Janitorial, Inc. for Carpet and Floor Cleaning Services (the "Contract ") because the annual contract price was under $50,000.00. 2. The original bid (IFB- 212 -107) provided the City with the option to extend the Contract for three (3) additional one -year terms. 3. Both parties wish to extend the Contract for the first of the allowed one -year terms as authorized by the Contract. 4. This extension will cause the total contract amount to exceed the authorized purchasing threshold of $50,000.00 and the contract, including the first extension, therefore requires City Council approval. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS.) TEXAS: PART 1. The Contract with Capitol City Janitorial, Inc. (including the first extension) for the provision of carpet and floor cleaning services in the annual amount of $44,775.56 is approved. PART 2. The Purchasing Manager, Cheryl Pantermuehl, is authorized to execute appropriate documents related to this contract extension on behalf of the City. PART 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately from and after its passage. ADOPTED this the 16th day of July, 2013.
