<br /> 77 <br /> Regular Meeting August 8, 1983 Page 5 <br /> Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval for funds to be <br /> allocated for patrol of park area to prohibit persons from jumping <br /> from the bridge or throwing rocks from the bridge above the San Mar- <br /> cos River. Chief of Police Myron Galchutt stated he had officers <br /> patroling the park area over the past weekend. He was recommending <br /> the Council consider amending the budget for $3,400 of the $5,200 <br /> allocated for the reserve police officer program to be placed in <br /> the overtime line item to cover the expense of having officers on <br /> patrol on the weekends for this purpose. He stated the officers would <br /> also enforce all other ordinances pertaining to the park area. He <br /> stated Sargeant Dan Nelson would be contacting Missouri-Pacific Rail- <br /> road by letter regarding trespass on their bridge. He also stated <br /> Sargeant Nelson was formulating an ordinance to be presented to the <br /> Council which would prohibit persons trespassing on the bridge. <br /> Mayor Craddock moved that a budget amendment be prepared and pre- <br /> sented to the Council to move $3,400 to the overtime line item for <br /> this purpose, and Mr. Brown seconded the motion, which passed unani- <br /> mously. <br /> The meeting adjourned at 9:40 p.m. on motion made by Mr. Brown and <br /> seconded by Mr. F arr. <br /> ~a uf ~ðWr- <br /> Karl W.
