Hopkins Street
San Marcos, TX 78666
Dear Stephen,
The San Marcos Public Library is delighted to serve as a
center for information about flooding, floodplain
management, and flood protection.
We have cataloged copies of the FIRM and floodway maps for
the city as well as the FEMA guide for their use. We also
have an number of books on flood insurance, floodplain
management, and how to protect a building from flood
hazards. Our reference staff has prepared an up-to-date
directory of other agencies that can provide more
information on the topic of flood management. (For a
complete list of flood information materials available
through the library, please see the attached list.)
Should the demand for information about flooding exceed
these resources, we will purchase additional materials for
our library collection. We also provide free interlibrary
loan services through which we can get citizens just about
any book or government document on this subject.
To publicize the availability of this information we will
post notices on our bulletin boards and put an announcement
in our library newsletter.
Thank you for including us as a source of information on
this important topic.
Sincerely,
1t~( ~~p
Stephanie Langenkamp
Library Director
Public Library.
