<br /> 57 <br /> RESOLUTION 1991-~ <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, REQUESTING THE TEXAS <br /> DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO ASSIGN A <br /> RESIDENT ENGINEER SOLELY TO HAYS COUNTY: AND <br /> DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, the San Marcos and Hays County area has <br />increased steadily in population and more importantly in <br />traffic volume over the past few years; and, <br /> WHEREAS, there exists a need for more frequent and <br />convenient communication between the Texas Department of <br />Transportation and the governments of the City of San Marcos, <br />Hays County and the eight (8) other incorporated <br />municipalities that lie therein; and, <br /> WHEREAS, there currently exists a temporary vacancy in <br />the position of Resident Engineer for the Hays County/South <br />Travis County Office of the Texas Department of <br />Transportation; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council supports the separate <br />designation of the Hays County section of the Hays <br />County/Travis County office of the Texas Department of <br />Transportation engineering staff; <br /> NOvl, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. That Hays County be granted status as a <br />separate entity for Engineering considerations under the <br />Texas Department of Transportation. <br /> PART 2. That a permanent Hays County Residency status <br />be assigned to an Engineer who would service Hays County <br />alone. <br /> PART 3.
